Axis Builders was honored to be asked to participate in this significant project along with Joiner Architects. Bretagne, a beautiful Golden Retriever and lifelong Fairfield, TX resident, lived and loved her life of selfless service to her community, state, and nation. She was a member of the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department and Texas Task Force One. Bretagne was the last surviving disaster search dog who searched tirelessly for survivors at the World Trade Center in New York following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The project includes cast stone, granite, and a masonry pedestal. As well as a concrete plaza, walkways, site lighting, irrigation, and landscaping. Although Bretagne is no longer with us, her spirit and beauty live on through a one-of-a-kind bronze portrait statue created by sculpture artist Lean Toritch.
